Master of Science in Nursing — Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN PMHNP)
Hilary Ryan Buryanek has been drawn toward helping those with mental health conditions since long before she began nursing school. Her first experience as a nurse was in the ICU, where she learned that mental health is a huge factor across many aspects of the healthcare system.
Hilary decided to earn her Master of Science in Nursing — Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN PMHNP) degree so that she could pursue her passion and make a difference. As a working mother whose husband is also a nurse, she’s mindful of the balance between family and professional needs, which makes online education an appealing option for so many people.
Hilary is also a veteran, having been deployed in Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012. Her military experience informs her long-term goal to focus on military medicine, specifically working with veterans who have been deployed overseas. After completing the MSN PMHNP program, Hilary plans to continue her education through the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Maryville, in addition to a post-doctoral fellowship in PTSD studies.
